Rebecca Cassidy

Rebecca is a fourth year Bachelor of Music (Adv. Performance) student at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. She has performed the roles of Merab (Handel’s Saul) and Noemie (Massenet’s Cendrillon) and this year will perform the title role of Puccini’s Suor Angelica.

Rebecca has been the recipient of many presigious Awards and Prizes including the Exhibition Award from the Trinity Guildhall School of Music, the Long Tan Scholarship for Academic Excellence and the Wagner Award from the QLD Wagner Society (2010). Last year she recieved the Encouragement Award from the Dame Joan Sutherland National Aria Competition and was also the runner up in the Australian Concerto and Vocal Competition (open section).

Rebecca is a student of Margaret Schindler and hopes to continue her studies both here and abroad as she furthers her experience in the world of classical singing and opera.
