Joshua Dos Santos, recently appointed Associate Conductor of the Simon Bolivar Chamber Orchestra, is a Venezuelan-Portuguese conductor forging a vast international career. A disciple of Maestro Jose Antonio Abreu and a graduate of Venezuela’s celebrated El Sistema, Dos Santos made his debut at 16 with Cavalleria Rusticana and has since conducted all major Venezuelan orchestras. His roles include Music Director of the Vargas and Carabobo Youth Symphony Orchestras, Associate Conductor of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra, and Music Director of The Orchestra of the Filipino Youth.

Dos Santos has led orchestras worldwide, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Orchestre Philhar; 10nique de Radio France, and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. Notably, he premiered Krzysztof Penderecki’s Symphony No. 3 in Mexico and has performed at prestigious festivals such as Carnegie Hall’s “Voices from Latin America.”

An advocate for music education, he supports El Sistema-inspired programs globally and has been honoured as an outstanding citizen of Carabobo. His recent highlights include tours in South America, debuts in Qatar and Colombia, and celebrating 20 years of artistic career in Venezuela.
