Barrier Reef Orchestra receives Council grant for concert series
The Barrier Reef Orchestra has been successful in its application for a grant from the Townsville City Council for funds to support the 2022 concert series.
I am super excited that our grant application was approved at the ordinary meeting of The Townsville City Council today. This ensures that a significant portion of all our concert costs are secured this year.

Council’s Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said she was pleased to see Council continue its support of the arts in Townsville.
“At Council, we are focused on making Townsville a more vibrant place to live. Access to the arts is just one way we can make our city more exciting for people who already live here as well as more attractive to people considering making Townsville their new home,” Cr Greaney said.
“The Barrier Reef Orchestra has shown us time and time again that it is equal to any capital city’s orchestra. The talent of the performers is awe inspiring and gives ordinary Townsville locals the chance to experience first-rate live orchestral music.”
