BRO Players Take Part in Fauré’s Requiem in D minor, Op 48
Members of the Barrier Reef Orchestra took part in a performance of Fauré’s Requiem in D minor, Op 48 on 8th November 2020. The concert brought together a number of Townsville’s musical individuals and groups:
- “Fauré Project” Community Choir Townsville
- Cleveland Singers
- Amadeus Singers Children’s Choir
- Members of the Barrier Reef Orchestra Townsville
- Michael Fellows, Organ
- Pompeyo Robert Caluya, Baritone
- Benjamin Sarnyai, Treble Solo
- Anne Milanovic, conducting
- Dr. Kenneth Lay, Dean of St. James’ Cathedral (prayers and readings)
The musical programme consisted of:
- Organ Prelude: Johann Sebastian Bach: Vor Deinen Thron tret’ ich hiermit, BWV 668
- Gabriel Fauré: Requiem in D minor, op 48, 1893 version (edited by Philip Legge)
- Josef Gabriel Rheinberger: Bleib bei uns
